Once reverse gear is selected, the reversing aid / parking sensor system will automatically activate. The display will light and normally an audible tone can be heard. Recessed into the rear bumper the ultrasonic sensors will start to receive and transmit radio waves that bounce off any obstacles in range. With this information, the display can give you a reading relating to the distance from the obstacle and a audible beep will get faster the closer the object.
